Published research this week is uniformly bullish on European natural gas, with no bearish counter-view surfacing across the sources reviewed.
The shared thread: escalating US-Iran tensions have disrupted LNG shipments from the Persian Gulf, particularly Qatar, tightening the pool of cargoes available to European and Asian buyers. Some analysts stress that European storage is already running below seasonal norms — meaning a sustained absence of Qatari LNG would bite hard as Europe and Asia compete for winter supply. TTF front-month futures are expected to stay elevated or push higher on that basis.
A separate strand of recent research frames the story structurally rather than tactically: years of under-investment and disrupted trade routes have pushed European TTF to a hefty premium over both oil and US gas, and researchers argue that gap persists as long as scarcity does. Others note the Iran-linked price rally is already showing up in euro-area inflation data — a sign markets are pricing sustained tightness, not a passing spike.
The two camps are complementary: one is a conditional winter call hinging on Qatar; the other, a longer structural view.
