Euro investment-grade credit is the standout call in European fixed income today, according to recently published research.
The headline view: analysts argue that spreads on euro-denominated investment-grade corporate bonds are set to tighten further, meaning these bonds keep outperforming. The driver is a striking demand gap versus the dollar market. Since April, euro IG funds have pulled in inflows worth roughly 4.2% of assets, against just 0.3% for dollar IG funds. The ETF gap is even wider — about 7% versus 0.4%. Researchers note this structural demand has let euro IG quietly outperform through recent volatility, with no obvious catalyst to reverse it near term.
A separate strand of published analysis flags that short-dated euro inflation expectations look skewed to the upside, pointing to possible indirect energy pass-through and fragile ceasefire dynamics as risks the curve hasn't fully absorbed.
Taken together, the research consensus suggests markets may be underpricing both inflation risk and the demand backdrop in European credit.
