Bitcoin's week flipped from cautious optimism to outright caution, with research consensus turning bearish in the back half.
Early in the week, the tone leaned constructive. One thread argued the 21M supply cap and decades of outperformance still make BTC a credible hedge against fiat debasement. Technical commentary flagged a bounce off the 74,500 level, framing old resistance as new support, while another note pointed to an intermediate-term low forming with improving weekly indicators.
By Thursday and Friday, the mood shifted sharply. Multiple independent analysts described crypto as "in a world of hurt" after BTC lost the 75,000 area and drifted toward 73,000, warning of possible capitulation. A potential head-and-shoulders pattern drew calls for downside toward 60,000, with 37,000 flagged if that breaks. Others framed BTC as already in a bear market, citing drained liquidity, fading speculative demand, and historical drawdown cycles suggesting the bottom may not yet be in.
