Bitcoin's next leg higher hinges on regulatory catalysts, according to research published this week.
One camp of analysts holds a constructive medium-to-long-term view on Bitcoin, arguing that three near-term catalysts could drive the next move up: the Senate vote on the crypto Clarity Act scheduled for September 15, fresh SEC rulemaking on digital assets, and progress on tokenization at the main US securities clearinghouse.
The same research acknowledges volatility is likely in the run-up to the Senate vote. But it points to two structural supports for the bullish thesis: price action that has stabilised in recent weeks, and a pattern across prior four-year cycles in which downside risk appears to diminish at this stage.
The through-line: near-term choppiness, but researchers frame the setup as skewed to the upside if the regulatory calendar delivers.
