Bitcoin watchers are split — and the split is mostly about time horizon, not direction.
The tactical view is constructive while BTC holds above $80,000. The argument leans on two things: steady institutional demand through spot ETFs, which has kept flows positive even as broader risk appetite wobbled, and a chart that has now cleared the $76,000–$78,000 resistance zone. If momentum sticks, that opens a technical path toward $100,000.
A more strategic, contrarian read sees the same price action very differently. In that view, BTC broke a critical long-term momentum level last November after repeatedly testing it over several years. Historically, that kind of breakdown tends to suppress an asset for years rather than months, with a path back toward $30,000–$40,000 on the table.
The interesting part: both sides agree on the tape. BTC is above $80,000. One camp reads that as confirmation of continuation higher. Another reads it as a bounce inside a longer downtrend before the next leg lower.
So this is partly a horizon disagreement — near-term versus multi-year — but the structural question underneath is real: ETF-driven institutional demand is clearly doing work right now. Whether that flow can override a long-term momentum breakdown is the actual debate worth tracking.
